PHOTO NEWS - ERC 2015 HOLIDAY COACHING CLOSING CEREMONY

On Thursday September 9 the Education Rights Campaign (ERC) 2015 Annual Free Holiday Coaching came to an end with a closing ceremony. This was after 6-weeks of intensive teaching, learning and career talk by a group of volunteer teachers organized by the ERC to give opportunity to poor working class children who cannot afford the cost of private coaching.

The Free Coaching started in 2005 and has been held annually since then. The aim is not just to provide an opportunity to poor students but also demonstrate, as part of the overall campaign of the ERC, the possibility of free and quality education especially if government is committed to it and deploys society's enormous resources towards it.

This year over 400 secondary school students participated.

We will like to thank all supporters of this year's coaching and hope we will continue to have your support and collaboration to ensure that we are able to organize a bigger and better one in subsequent years.
Our team of Volunteer Teachers are the heroes of this project which has been kept alive for a decade now. Young men and women, they bought into the vision of the ERC and without demanding any financial reward decided to devote their time every year to keep the coaching alive. With this crop of young people, we are confident that this generation can still redeem the society.
